I received an email to complete my PPD requirements for IFoA. I am a student member earning less than £9,400 annually and working part-time as a credit analyst (outside the actuarial field). How should I proceed?
If you are not working in an actuarial role and are unable to meet your annual Personal and Professional Development (PPD) requirements, you may request a PPD exemption, subject to IFoA approval.
How to Request a PPD Exemption:
Log in to your IFoA Member Portal.
Review your annual PPD requirements and submission deadline.
Contact IFoA Member Services at memberservices@actuaries.org.uk, explaining your employment circumstances and requesting an exemption.
Provide the relevant dates and any supporting documents requested by IFoA.
Important: Working outside the actuarial profession does not automatically qualify you for a PPD exemption. Relevant professional experience gained in a non-actuarial role, such as credit analysis, may still count towards your PPD requirements.
If you are working in an actuarial role, coordinate with your supervisor or manager to complete and record the required PPD activities.
Note: All exemption requests are subject to IFoA’s eligibility criteria and approval.
