Step 1: Verify Eligibility

Ensure that the IFoA exams you’ve completed correspond to the IAI subjects for which you’re seeking exemptions. IAI grants exemptions for subjects passed with IFoA, effective from January 1, 2022. However, note that exemptions are not available for country-specific subjects, such as the SA level examinations.

Step 2: Prepare Necessary Documents

Gather the following documents:

$\bullet \quad$ Proof of IFoA Exam Completion: Individual pass results of the respective subjects from IFoA, duly attested.

$\bullet \quad$ IAI Membership Details: Ensure you have your IAI membership information ready, as only IAI members can apply for exemptions.

Step 3: Log into the IAI Member Portal

Visit the IAI official website and log in using your credentials. If you are not yet a member, you’ll need to register and obtain membership before proceeding.

Step 4: Navigate to the Exemptions Section

Once logged in:

$\bullet \quad$ Click on the “Exemptions” tab.

$\bullet \quad$ Select the IFoA papers that you have passed and for which you seek exemptions.

Step 5: Upload Required Documents

For each exemption application:

$\bullet \quad$ Upload the self-attested copies of your IFoA exam pass documents. (Individual paper pass certificate and IFoA pass exam history would be required).

$\bullet \quad$ Ensure that all documents are clear and legible to avoid processing delays.

Step 6: Pay the Exemption Fees

The exemption fees vary depending on the subject and the institution from which the exam was passed. For IFoA exams, the fees are as follows:

$\bullet \quad$ CS1/2 and CM1/2: ₹12,500 each

$\bullet \quad$ CB1-CB2: ₹7,500 each

$\bullet \quad$ CB3: ₹25,000

$\bullet \quad$ CP1/CP3: ₹20,000 each

$\bullet \quad$ CP2: ₹25,000

$\bullet \quad$ SP1 – SP9: ₹15,000 each

$\bullet \quad$ CT1 – CT9: ₹6,250 each

$\bullet \quad$ CA1 – CA3: ₹18,750 each

$\bullet \quad$ ST1 – ST9: ₹10,000 each

Proceed to make the payment through the available payment gateway. Remember, exemption fees once paid are non-refundable.

Step 7: Submit the Application

After completing the payment:

$\bullet \quad$ Review all entered information and uploaded documents for accuracy.

$\bullet \quad$ Submit your exemption application.

Step 8: Monitor Application Status

You can track the status of your exemption application by:

$\bullet \quad$ Logging into your IAI account.

$\bullet \quad$ Navigating to the “Exemption List” under the Exemption tab.

Once approved, your exemption letter will be available in the same section.
