About the Team: This apprenticeship position is part of L&H Re APAX unit in Bangalore that provides support to diverse units to L&H teams across the globe including pricing of reinsurance treaties. The L&H Pricing Services team supports the team in various countries in the region in pricing, experience studies and other related activities. This position entails working for various markets within L&H Re Asia excluding China team with hybrid working conditions. Therefore, provides huge learning opportunity towards developing the understanding of insurance/reinsurance practices of the regions like ANZ, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea etc.

About the Role : The Apprentice will be responsible to deliver support to Pricing Team with analytical capabilities. Key work areas are:

  • Treaty experience analysis for reinsured business
  • Providing experience insights emerging for Pricing and Valuation assumption settings
  • Working closely with local & regional actuaries and data management teams L&H Re APAX Pricing Apprentice will be highly motivated individual to join the L&H Re APAX Pricing Services team. The main tasks will be
  • Learn, run and modify models for experience studies exposure and expected calculations for various lines of business such as Critical Illness, Mortality.
  • Supporting the team from migration of codes from SAS to R
  • Develop treaty analysis reports with trends and key insights on Actual vs Expected, lapses and claims development based on risk factors such as underwriting cohorts, policy years, age bands, sum assured and more.
  • Learn to understand product designs, pricing philosophy and target population experience
  • Work closely with Pricing/Valuation teams to share insights from experience analysis for assumption settings.
  • Brainstorm ideas for automating and continuous development of current processes. About You: Desired:
  • Completed Bachelors in Mathematics/Statistics Highly motivated towards actuarial qualification from recognized institution (2-4 exams)
  • Programming skills in SAS/VBA/R/Python are preferred
  • Excellent analytical, oral and written English skills to be able to communicate results and hold discussions with stakeholders
  • Ability and enthusiasm to work with various regional teams within and outside India
  • Strong team player to support high performing team
