In order to get registered with IAI, one must clear the Actuarial Common Entrance Test, commonly known as ACET. It is a 100 marks online MCQ based examination of 3 hours with 70 questions. Like other Common Entrance Tests, ACET too tests a candidate’s numerical, comprehension and reasoning skills. The exam is usually conducted twice a year tentatively in the months of June and December. ACET will be conducted in a single day with one slot.
The distribution of questions will be:
a. 45 questions – 1 mark each
b. 20 questions – 2 marks each
c. 05 questions – 3 marks each

There aren’t any sectional cut-offs however the pass mark for clearing the examination is 50%.
ACET result is valid for 3 years from the date of declaration of the exam result for taking student membership of IAI.
